Student Engagement Campaign

The Problem: University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s English Department has a great internship program, an excellent roster of community partners, and mentors ready to jump into action. So why weren’t more students applying to the program? They didn’t know it existed. So we launched a print and digital promotional campaign, papering the prestigious halls of academia with posters, sneaking into student Facebook feeds (yes, this was way back then) and blasting the good news on the department website.

The Results: An immediate 200% internship program enrollment increase, that’s a jump from 5 students per semester to 20. And this translated into more happy students with real-world experience in their metaphorical pockets plus more happy businesses and nonprofits, some so thrilled they extended job offers to their interns. Now that’s a beautiful ending.
